Flor de Cempasúchil

A series of eight ink-and-watercolor illustrations for a Oaxaca nursery's Day of the Dead seasonal catalog. Each piece portrays a stage of the cempasúchil flower, from seed to ofrenda.

The challenge was keeping the texture of the original watercolor when it was reproduced offset on recycled paper, without losing the pigment's natural gradients.
